The goal of meditation is that there is no goal. Don't cling to any of your experiences or thoughts while you are meditating. It may take a while to get the hang of it, but non-attachment allows us to flow with the moment, in the moment. Observing the flow puts us in touch with our personal rhythm and our connection to the divine. Practicing without grasping, will increase our ability to be in the moment when life is busy or complicated and whose life isn't? It's a nice little vacation from all the inner and outer noise too.
Don't worry, not having a goal is liberating. Just sit...relax and go with the flow. It's as easy as that. Make it a habit and mindfulness will be the ace in your pocket when the road gets bumpy. Happy trails :-)
